

Do we know the real Leo or do we just think we know him? It’s a mystery that will surround the rest of his career. It’s like he knows that we know that he knows who and what he is-but here, Leo’s sleight of hand is right there on the surface. Then comes Catch Me If You Can, where Leo leans into the charm and fascination with the sly wink of a con man. This came five years after Titanic, and in that interim Leo made some of his worst movies (see: the back end of this list).


Titanic is the way we will always remember Leonardo DiCaprio, but Catch Me If You Can is more likely the way he wishes we would.
